Terms of Service
Last updated August 2026. Job Description Tool is operated by an individual based in Colorado, as a sole proprietorship — not a registered company. By using this site, you agree to the terms below.
What the service is
Job Description Tool generates formatted job description documents (and, via the Inclusive Language Scanner, flags potentially exclusionary language in text you paste in) based on information you provide, using AI. It's currently in early access — some features, pricing, and limits may change as the product develops.
AI-generated content — review before use
Everything this tool produces — job descriptions, bias/inclusive-language flags, and scanner results — is generated automatically and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. It is provided as a drafting aid, not as legal, HR, or compliance advice. Consistent formatting is not the same as legal compliance: decisions about FLSA classification, EEO-1 categorization, physical requirements, accommodations, and other jurisdiction- or role-specific requirements depend on your actual employer, role, and location. You're responsible for reviewing and editing any output before relying on it or distributing it.
Accounts and access
No account is required to use the generator. An optional email sign-in exists for certain flows; if you use it, you're responsible for keeping access to that email address secure. Some features are rate-limited per visitor to prevent abuse.
Payment, free access, and refunds
When paid plans are active, purchases are non-refundable once a job description has been generated against that purchase, since the underlying AI generation cost has already been incurred. Payments are processed by Stripe; we don't store your card details. During periods when the product is offered for free (as it currently is), usage is rate-limited per visitor rather than metered against a purchase, and no payment is required or collected.
Acceptable use
Don't use this tool to generate content intended to discriminate, harass, or deceive, and don't attempt to abuse, overload, or circumvent rate limits or access controls. We can suspend or restrict access for activity that abuses the service or violates these terms.
Your content and ownership
You own the information you submit and the documents generated from it. We don't claim any ownership over your job descriptions or scanner input. See our Privacy & Data page for what we do and don't retain, and how AI providers process your submissions.
No warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Job Description Tool and its operator aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including decisions made based on generated content. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or $0 if you used the service for free).
Changes to these terms
We're a small, early-stage product and these terms may be updated as the product evolves. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. Check back if it's been a while.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
