Use the checker inside ChatGPT and Claude
Our pay transparency checker is available as an AI assistant tool over the open Model Context Protocol (MCP) — the same standard both ChatGPT and Claude use for connectors. Paste a posting, name a state, and get the compliance grade without leaving the conversation. Free, no signup, no API key.
Connector URL
https://jobdescriptiontool.com/mcp
Add it to Claude
- Open Claude (web app or desktop app) and go to Settings → Connectors.
- Click “Add custom connector”.
- Enter a name (e.g. Pay Transparency Checker) and paste the connector URL above as the remote MCP server URL.
- Click Add, then Connect.
- Ask something like: “Check this posting for Colorado pay transparency compliance: [paste posting]”
Add it to ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, go to Settings → Apps & Connectors and click Create.
- Enter a name and paste the connector URL above as the connector URL, then Save.
- In a conversation, click the + icon, choose More → Developer mode, and select the connector.
- Ask something like: “Does this posting meet California pay transparency requirements? [paste posting]”
We're also preparing a listing in ChatGPT's App Directory so it can be added in one tap — the manual connector above works today.
What the tools do
- Check posting compliance — grades a posting's text against a state's pay transparency law: pay range, benefits description, and application deadline detection, with what's missing and the official state source. Runs the same check as our web checker.
- State requirements lookup — plain-language summary of what any covered state requires in postings, including states where disclosure is owed on request rather than in the posting (Connecticut, Nevada, Rhode Island).
Fair use
- Free for personal and commercial use — no signup, no API key.
- Posting checks are rate-limited (10 per day per network address) to keep the service free for everyone; the assistant will tell you if you hit the limit.
- The checker is a general-information tool, not legal advice — the same disclaimer shown on the website applies here too.
