Job Summary
Provides direct patient care and coordinates treatment plans with physicians and the care team. Monitors patient conditions, administers medications, and educates patients and families on care and recovery.
Essential Functions
- Assess patient conditions, record medical histories, and document symptoms and observations accurately
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following all safety protocols
- Develop and update individualized care plans in coordination with physicians and the care team
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-discharge care
- Operate and maintain medical equipment used in patient care
- Communicate clearly with physicians, specialists, and support staff during handoffs and rounds
Qualifications
Required:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong clinical judgment and the ability to remain calm in fast-paced situations
Preferred:
- 1+ years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Education & Certifications
Active RN license in the state of practice; BLS certification required at hire
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and reposition patients with assistance, and respond quickly in emergency situations.
Pay range example: $38–$52 per hour (adjust to your market and shift differentials)
